Doris Cecile Downes

Doris was born in –Van Buren, Maine on April 3, 1930, the daughter of William J and Artheline (Gallant) Lurette. She was a Retired Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked for Hospice for many years as well as Deltona Nursing Services before retiring.

She lived in Holbrook, MA before moving to Florida in 1978.

Her greatest love was for her children. She loved the beach and her dream was to live on the Beach which she actually did for a few years. She was a collector of dolls. She loved socializing with friends and family. She will be greatly missed by all her friends and family.

Doris is survived by 5 sons - Bernard (Skip) Silva, James Downes, Burt Anderson, John Downes & his wife Debbie, Robin Downes, and one daughter - Bonnie Tryder and her husband Russ. She also had 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. One sister Marie Ida Hagerman and one brother Daniel Lurette and many nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father - William J and Artheline Lurette, and one son - William Silva.

A memorial service will be at 10:00 am on December 3, 2015 at Deltona Memorial Gardens, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763. Burial will be immediately following the service.
