Mr. Gates was born on December 25, 1932 in Corry, Pennsylvania, the son of Thad and Zella Rodgers Gates. He was an electrician for airlines and public utilities prior to his retirement.
He is survived by his son, Duane E. Gates, II of Inverness, Florida.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, January 11th at 11am at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Boulevard, Orange City, FL - PH: 386-775-4260 with Chaplain David Meyer officiating.
