Mr. Bart was born on January 13, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Theodore and Barbara Albe Bart. He served in the United States Air Force for 25 1/2 years prior to his retirement, receiving the Air Force Commendation Award and serving in World War II. He was united in marriage to Ethel E. Bagshaw for 54 years prior to her death in 1999. He was then united in marriage to Anne Smith for ten years. He was a professional disc jockey and an avid softball player who won numerous batting titles when he was well into his 70's. He was a gentle man and an animal lover (he loved his dog - Shyla). He was generous and gave monthly to various charities. He was a loving and caring family man. Music was his passion. He was always whistling and enjoyed singing, dancing and bowling.
He is survived by his wife, Anne; three sons, John Bart, Edward B. Bart and Theodore Bart; three daughters, Carol Dalziel, Ruth McCabe and Barbara Richardson; thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 1625 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Orange City, FL 32763.
Friends may call on Monday, July 29th from 6:30 - 8 pm at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Boulevard, Orange City, Florida, PH: 386-775-4260. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 30th at 10 am. Burial will immediately follow in Deltona Memorial Gardens in Orange City.
