DeBary, FL, age 88, died on April 17, 2014. He was predeceased by his sister, Irene; brother, William; and daughters, Janet and Susan Hayes.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Theodora; children,, Doris (Dennis) Quintilian, Edward (Gisela) Hayes Jr., Nancy Hayes and Barbara Hayes; grandchildren, Joseph, Jessica, Mary, Devin, Kayleigh, Chris, Heather, Josh, Jeff and Christopher; and son-in-law, Walter Johnson.
A US Navy WWII veteran and retired steamfitter (Local 638). Ed was a member of the VFW, Elks and Moose. He was also a member of the School Board of Education in Copiague,NY.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, April 24th from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 pm at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, FL, PH: 386-775-4260. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 25th at 10 am at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 26 Dogwood Trail, DeBary with Father Peter Henry officiating.
Entombment will follow Mass in Deltona Memorial Gardens in Orange City with full Military Honors.
