Mr. Kalata was born on September 17, 1932 in Passaic, New Jersey, the son of Jacob and Irene Frankovic Kalata. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Gertrude Forster for 61 years. He was a service manager for 3M Business Products prior to his retirement. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Deltona, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion. He enjoyed woodworking and was a perpetual tinkerer.
He is survived by his loving wife f 61 years, Gertrude; three sons, Gary Kalata, Kenneth (Diana) Kalata and Andrew (Kelly) Kalata; two daughters, Karen (William) Nelson and Lynda Wilson; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
