Elizabeth Reeves Burton went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 29, 2019. She was beloved by all of her family and friends. She loved everyone she crossed paths with. She was a powerful prayer warrior and bible teacher. She enjoyed life and every morning started out with "Good morning Lord." When you walked into her room, she would say, "What day is It?" and then you would repeat with her, "This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it."
She had a passion for serving the Lord and telling others about her Jesus. She loved being in church and worshipping God with her church family.
She was full of compassion, understanding and always so encouraging to anyone that called her with a prayer request. She never said, "I will pray for you, finish the call and hang up, her response was" let's go to the Lord in prayer right now."
When someone shared a need, she would recite bible scripture to encourage them and lift them up.
She was involved in a Saturday conference call where the group prayed for Israel. She never missed that call no matter where she was she would call in. She was involved in Aglow International in Miami and Port St. Lucie. She was a Soldier of the Cross at Volusia County Baptist Church. She loved visiting hospitals and nursing homes. She also visited individual homes to pray for, read the Word of God and encourage all those that were hurting. In Miami she visited the hospitals so much that her Pastor started calling her Pastor Betty because every time he was at the hospital he would run into her.
She loved spending time with her family. She was the oldest of 9 children, born in Charleston, SC and moved to Davie, Florida in 1949 where she graduated from South Broward High School. On May 1,1952 she married Charles Richard Burton and was married 46 years before his passing. She had (1) son, Paul and (3) daughters, Connie, Susan and Mary.
She will be greatly missed by everyone that loved and knew her.
