Faye Catherine Jarvis Vastbinder

Faye Catherine Jarvis was born in Congo, Ohio on September 15, 1934 to the parents of John and Hazel Jarvis. She graduated from Pleasant Local High School, Moxahala, Ohio. Following graduation she attended Owosso Bible College, Owosso, Michigan and Marion College, Marion, Indiana. On September 17, 1955 Faye married Carl Vastbinder in Dayton, Ohio. From their union came Pam (1959) and Randy (1961). Faye professed a belief in Jesus Christ from her youth. She enjoyed playing the piano and serving with her husband in music ministry at various churches. Faye worked as a credit union loan officer.. Besides being active as a home maker and part time vacation photographer, she enjoyed reading, puzzles, shopping and connecting with family. Retirement came in 1984 with a move to Florida to be closer to their children. When her husband of over 50 years died on January 24, 2012, Faye began a difficult journey of doctor visits and hospital procedures. Her condition stabilized in a rehab facility, and she moved to a lovely Assisted Living facility. In the two years that followed she enjoyed fellowship with the other residents and family. Faye passed away on September 4, 2015 in Winter Park, Florida. She is survived by her Aunt, Mary (Dick) Deisler, her children, Pam (Rick) Blanchard and Randy (Kris) Vastbinder and her grandchildren, Peter, Brent and Leanne Vastbinder.
