

Gary Elmer Borck, 68, DeBary, Florida passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial, Orange City. He was born August 4, 1943 in Oak Park, Illinois to Elmer and Rosella Borck. He was a loving son, devoted husband, and doting father.
Gary worked as a captain at USAirways for 35 years. After he retired from USAirways, he was hired by Madison Square Garden as a captain to fly the New York Knicks and the New York Rangers. After three years of flying for Madison Square Garden, Gary joined Vision Airlines. At Vision Airlines, Gary was a captain and flew aircraft into and out of the war zones in Baghdad, Iraq and Kabul, Afghanistan. After working for Vision Airlines for nearly four years, Gary finally retired from the aviation industry in August 2008.
Gary, along with his wife, Dawn Borck, moved to DeBary to manage Blue Spring Auto Wash, which they purchased in 2000. Gary enjoyed serving as a mentor to his younger employees, even helping some of them obtain jobs in the airline industry, and speaking with the customers that frequented his business. He used his business to help support many charities to which he was devoted, including local youth groups, religious organizations, conservation groups, and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. While Gary was devoted to many charities, he was most proud of his fundraising efforts on behalf of manatees in Volusia County.
Gary is survived by his wife of 32 years – Dawn Borck; his son - Brett von Borke of Miami , Miami, Florida; and his Daughter – Brittany Borck, of Miami, Florida. He will be dearly missed by many.
