Born on February 27, 1964, George was known for his adventurous spirit, quick wit, and deep love for the outdoors. He found joy in boating, fishing, and rock climbing, especially during his years exploring the beauty of his home state of New York. No mountain was too high, no fish too elusive, and no day spent outside ever wasted in George’s eyes. He was a long-time employee at the City of Winter Park, where he was very proud of the work he did and his fellow coworkers, many of whom he was happy to call friends.
George is survived by his devoted wife, Karen Richardson, and their three children: George Richardson III (m. Tiffany Richardson), Nicole Richardson, and Jessica Richardson. He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren who lit up his world: Austin, Hailey, Harmony, Georgie, Lily, Hartley, Landin, and Luke. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Richardson (Curtis Whitfield), with whom he shared countless memories and laughter over the years.
George was preceded in death by his loving parents, George and Joan Richardson.
George’s greatest legacy was the love he showed to his family and friends. He had a gift for making people feel welcome, loved, and never short of a good laugh. His humor, warmth, and adventurous heart will be deeply missed but forever cherished by all who knew him.
A celebration of George’s life will be held this Friday and Saturday in Deltona, where friends and family will gather to share stories and honor his memory the way he would have wanted—surrounded by laughter and love.
