He was born in Kingston, Jamaica on February 4, 1940. He was married to Roberta Burke. Hector Burke Sr. worked in the diesel mechanic industry.
He had a passion for playing cards, fixing cars, and riding bikes.
He was survived by children; Geniene Burke, Hector Burke Jr., and Marie Burke. Grandchildren; Drezdin Burke, Jaabar Burke and Adonis Burke.
