

Windermere, FL, age 80, was born on January 20, 1932 in New York City, where he spent most of his young life. He is the son of Hans and Margaret Bornack. Herb began his professional career with AT&T in 1951. He was called to duty by the U.S. Army in 1951 and served until 1953. After his service, he returned to AT&T and eventually transferred to Orlando, Florida, where he continued a successful career in telecommunications until he retired in 1982.
A very ambitious man, Herb opened Orlando Business Telephone Systems (OBTS), a company specializing in servicing and installation of a variety of telecommunication equipment. For Herb, no task was too difficult or to be considered impossible, which led to him opening Orlando Telephone Company (OTC) in 1998. Through OTC, Herb successfully installed fiber across Central Florida and the greater Orlando area.
Goodbye Herb. You touched many lives before you left this earth on December 2, 2012. You will be missed by each of them. Herb is survived by his wife, Joyce; sons, Herb and Bart Bornack; daughters, Dawn Penuel and Veronica Davis; granddaughter, Kimberly Penuel and grandsons, Ryan Bornack and Steven Dykes.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, Dec. 6th from 6 - 8 PM at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, FL, PH: 386-775-4260. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 7th at 2 PM at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow in Deltona Memorial Gardens, Orange City, FL.
