Iris Leonor Cotto Tañon, 65, of Orlando, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on July 15, 1960, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, where she grew up surrounded by family, culture, and the strong values that shaped the incredible woman she became.
Iris dedicated many years of her life to nursing, caring for patients with compassion, skill, and a warm spirit. She was exceptional at what she did, and even after stepping away from the profession, she carried those instincts with her always — using her knowledge to care for her family, friends, and anyone who needed her. Helping others was not just a career for Iris; it was part of who she was.
In 2002, Iris made the courageous decision to move from Puerto Rico to Orlando, Florida, to build a better life and raise her two beautiful sons. She poured every part of herself into being a mother, always putting Kevin and Chris first and guiding them with unwavering love, pride, and strength.
Iris shared years of partnership, laughter, and family with the love of her life, Gerardo Ramos. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished daughter, and a proud grandmother. Her grandchildren, Kyland and Mila, were her greatest joys, and she embraced the role of “Abu” with all her heart.
Iris will be remembered as a woman with a vibrant spirit — warm, strong, caring, and endlessly giving. She touched countless lives with her kindness and left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her presence filled every room, her laughter lifted every heart, and her love will continue to guide her family forever.
She is survived by her two sons, Kevin and Christopher Ramos Cotto; her beloved grandchildren, Kyland and Mila; and her extended family in Puerto Rico and the United States.
Her memory will be held close, and her legacy will continue through the love she gave and the lives she touched.
Iris will be forever missed and forever loved.
