

Jim was born in Patterson, NJ, and moved with his family from Hawthorne, NJ to Orange City, FL in 1977, where he worked for 30 years as a mechanical engineer for the Uni-Pak Corporation of Longwood. His passions were fishing and baseball. He was an umpire beginning in 1977 for SouthWest Volusia and Orange City Little Leagues, which included working the 1998 Senior League World Series and being named Umpire of the Year for the State of Florida. He also was the Umpire in Chief for District 19 from 1993-2018.
Jim will be eternally missed by his family, and is survived by his cherished sons Jimmy (Linda) Craig, of Simpsonville, SC, and Jeff Craig, of Orange City; loving daughter-in-law, Lezlie Craig of Casselberry (Scott-D); three adored grandchildren, Lacy, (Trevor) Anderson; Michael (Erika) Craig, and Tanner Nicole Craig; four treasured great-grandchildren; Grant and Blake Anderson, Briella and Kensington Craig; his loving brother Richard (Eleanor) Craig, his sister-in-law Claire Wax; five nieces and nephews, Rich (Carissa) Blaser, Mike (Teri) Blaser, Christine (Todd) Wax, Cathy Craig, Kelly Richards; and many caring friends.
Jim is preceded in death by his loving wife of forty years, Marsha, his cherished son, Scott, and his older brother, Don Craig.
A gathering and farewell memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at the Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd., in Orange City at 11am.
Private Entombment with immediate family will be held on Monday, June 29, 2020 at DeLand Memorial Gardens.
