James Velez

James was a US Army War Veteran, retired after 35 years from the US Department of State and also retired from the Volusia County School Board after 12 years of service.

James is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Alice Velez, two daughters, Vivian Guevara and her husband, David and Valerie Tolentino and her husband, Emil; four grandchildren, Jennifer Casiano-Davila, Jonathan Casiano, Andrew Velasquez, DeAnna Velasquez and one great-granddaughter Ava Velasquez; and one sister, Yvonne Velez.

Family and friends will be received at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home,1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, FL on Monday, January 17th from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, January 18th at 3:00 pm at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, 1310 Maximillian Street, Deltona. Full Military Honors will follow in Deltona Memorial Gardens, Chapel of Peace at 4:00pm.
