

Janet met her childhood sweetheart, William Robert (Bob) Travers Sr. in Oakland, NJ when she was 10 years old and they later married on March 25, 1944. Janet worked as a bookkeeper for Rahway State Prison in Rahway, New Jersey. Janet and Bob resided in Fords, NJ for 16 years before retiring to Florida.
Jen and Bob, as they called each other, were married for 74 happy years before Bob’s passing in 2018. After retiring to Florida, she spent much of her time doing volunteer work for the community. She spent time as a Pink Lady at the DeLand Hospital and volunteered countless hours and years with her husband, as Citizens on Patrol for the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office. Janet also had many passions which included bowling, sewing, knitting, traveling and most of all, her family. Janet was a wonderful woman who was loved, admired and cherished by her family and those who became close to her, due to her kindness and generosity.
She is survived by her children, Judith L. Lloyd, William (Bobby) R. Travers Jr., wife Marianne, and Nancy M. Jones. Grandchildren Darren Lloyd, Michelle Baird, Christopher Jones, wife Carmen, Kimberlie DeJesus, husband Alexander, Kevin Jones, wife Nichole, and Kellie Jones. Janet was fortunate enough to have 13 great grandchildren and even more fortunate to have 2 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her younger brother, John Kreuter, wife Mary. She was pre-deceased by her brother, William Roskam and only sister, Marie Stelzman.
Funeral arrangements will be held from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm on December 28, 2022 at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home. Church mass will be held on December 30, 2022 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of The Lakes Catholic Church.
