Born on November 18, 1951, Jay lived a life defined by faith, perseverance, devotion to family, and service to others. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose impact on the lives of those around him will be felt for generations.
Jay shared 38 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Teri Hauck. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love. One of Jay's greatest accomplishments was his unwavering faith in God and the example he set for his family through his Christian walk.
Throughout his career, Jay worked in the telecommunications industry with United Telephone Company, Outsource, Epic, Embarq, and CenturyLink. He was respected for his strong work ethic, dedication, and integrity.
Above all else, Jay cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Teri Hauck; his sons, Damon Eley and wife Randi, and Derek Eley and wife Gia; his sister, Nancy Judson and her husband, Paul; and his cherished grandchildren, Corinn, Kylie, Reese, Sloan, and Audrey, who brought him immense joy and happiness throughout his later years.
For more than 16 years, Jay courageously battled cancer with remarkable strength and grace. During his journey, he became a source of encouragement and hope to many fellow cancer patients, sharing his faith and offering comfort during their own difficult trials. His steadfast trust in God and positive spirit inspired countless people and served as a powerful testimony of hope.
Jay will be remembered as a kind, compassionate, and faithful Christian man who loved God, loved his family deeply, and always sought to encourage others. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the lives he touched, and the faith he shared so freely.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him, but they find comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the presence of his Lord and Savior.
