John was born on September 15, 1957, in Melbourne, Florida. He lived a life rooted in faith, love, and quiet strength. To those who knew him best, he was a steady and dependable presence — a devoted husband, a proud father, and an adoring grandfather whose love for his family was evident in everything he did.
He enjoyed fishing and looked forward each year to time spent hunting, simple traditions that brought him peace and reflection. Yet nothing brought him greater joy than attending his grandchildren’s activities and sharing in their accomplishments.
John cherished his church family and walked closely with the Lord throughout his life. His faith was not only something he believed, but something he lived. It guided his decisions, strengthened him through life’s challenges, and shaped the example he set for his children and grandchildren who were truly the light of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Kennedy of DeLand, Florida; two sons, Joshua Kennedy (Tessa) and John Kennedy (Melanie); three grandchildren, Addison Kennedy, Connor Kennedy, and Logan Kennedy; one brother, Larry Kennedy (Dorothy); and two nephews, Scott Kennedy (Mellita) and Conrad Churney.
While our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that John is now at peace in the presence of his Savior. His legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family will continue to live on through all of us.
A visitation will be held at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763, US, on March 7, 2026, from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
