

In 1947 John answered the call to serve his country in the United States Navy. He served for 20 years as an Aviation Mechanics Instructor until his retirement. Upon his retirement from the Navy, John began a career as an exterminator with Orkin. He enjoyed travelling, fishing and riding Harleys. John belonged to the VFW, American Legion, and Moose Lodge in Debary, FL and The Fleet Reserve in Sanford.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary Kotecki. He was also preceded in death by his parents Adam and Stella Kotecki, his brother Casey Kotecki and his sister Frances.
Left to cherish his memory are his nieces and nephews; Raymond & Dolores Lambert, Ron Kotecki, Elaine Rhyne, Don & Cleida Achor, Dean & Patsy Achor, Pat & Tom Mummert, Pam & Jerry Frances, Carol & John Shepardson, Janet & Ken Culver, Patty & John Asaro and Susie & Jim Sutter.
A service to celebrate John’s life is scheduled for Wednesday August 2, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, located at 1295 Saxon Boulevard, Orange City, FL 32763. An entombment with military honors will take place following the service at Deltona Memorial Gardens, located at 1295 Saxon Boulevard, Orange City, FL 32763. Arrangements under the direction of Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, Orange City, FL.
