

John P. Rokop, of Orange City FL, passed away at the age of 100 on May 10, 2023. Born in Aurora, Illinois on October 6, 1922 to the late Joseph and Rose Rokop. John graduated from East Aurora High School. John served in the United States Aircorp during World War II. John was married to Loretta “Bobbie” Cox on June 28,1946. They would enjoy many wonderful years of traveling, family gatherings and fond memories.
John worked for the railroad and then had a career in Rotogravure at RR Donnelley’s Printing Company in Chicago, Illinois where he retired at the age of 57. John spent many years singing in barbershop choruses and quartets. Soon after John and Bobbie moved to Florida where he stayed busy by working for the Real Estate Commission in Orlando and Tinker Field. From the 1980s to 2008 John was instrumental within his community by sharing his time and talents.
He served on various boards and civic organizations, some of which included the Debary Advisory Board, Citizens for Debary, the Debary Civic Association, Chamber of Commerce, and Debary Kiwanis Club. He was a lifelong member of the VFW and American Legion. John loved the outdoors, golfing, gardening, and playing the harmonica. John's hands where never idle, even later in life he had a passion for his family, friends and community.
John is survived by his children; Janice (Adrian) Marks and Marsha Coutant. Grandchildren; Anthony Marks (Linnzi) and Karen Kapsch (Thomas). Great-grandchildren; Emersyn Marks and R.J. Kapsch. Siblings, Irene McKeige, Margaret Maloney, Katherine Stringham, Joseph Rokop, Lillian Rokop, and Ellen McDonald.
A funeral service for John will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763.
A reception will occur Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763.
