

Mr. Rodriguez was born in Peñuelas, Puerto Rico on October 28th, 1933. He graduated from Webster School from whence he received a High School diploma. He had the rare privilege to learn English at an early age because his father was a professor who taught English as a second language. This gave him an advantage, and therefore he enlisted in the U.S. Armed Forces served during the Korean War conflict stationed in Germany. Mr. Rodriguez also worked for 30 years in the Engineering Dept. of Yale University’s Physical Plant in the city of New Haven.
He was married to Elizabeth Rodriguez on December 12th, 1992, and retired to Florida in 1993. He had a passion for the Bible, Theology and history books, dominoes, and spending time with family and friends. He maintained his Christian faith as a Protestant and often took part in the Holy Communion. He also enjoyed singing and had been a musician in his early life.
He is survived by his loving wife and by his children (from his first wife): Rosemary Rodriguez, Margo Rivera, Carol Rodriguez, Violet Rodriguez, José Rodriguez, David Rodriguez, and Gina Kozlowski; his stepchildren: Abel Rivera, Denise Perez, and the late Natanael ‘Piri’ Rivera(1967-2007); his grandchildren: Minerva Estrella, Michael Estrella, Nikki Ortiz, Alex Serrano, Tony Serrano, Laurissa Valentine, Melissa Valentine, David G. Rodriguez, André Rodriguez, Gabriela Rodriguez, Katrina Kozlowski, Monica Kozlowski, and Derek Kozlowski; his step-grandchildren Emmanuel Rivera Schile, Daniella Perez, Rebeca Perez, and Debora Perez; and 9 great-grandchildren. Also, his nieces and nephew considered him like a second father: Ruthie Torres, Joann Conte, Maria Elena Howland, Evelyn Torres, and Angelo Torres. He was predeceased by his siblings: Armida Rodriguez, Josefina Marrero, Ruth Torres, Miriam Rodriguez, Anita Viera, and Hilda Rodriguez; and his surviving siblings are Luis Rodriguez of Deltona, and Rosita Sclank of Puerto Rico. He will be missed by many more for years to come as a brother and a friend.
We will hold a Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. José V. Rodriguez on April 1st, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at Christ Wesleyan Church, 90 Garfield Rd., Enterprise, FL 32725 with a reception to follow hosted by his wife Mrs. Elizabeth Rodriguez.
