Joseph G. Carreiro, Sr.

Joe (Jerry) was born on January 7, 1943 in Fall River, MA, to the late Joseph R. and Hilda F. Carreiro. His family moved to Philadelphia, PA in 1954 where he met the love of his life, Audrey Shriner. Together they graduated from Ethan Allen Grade School and Lincoln HS. Jerry and Audrey were married on October 3,1964 a few months after he graduated from College of Emporia in Emporia KS with a Bachelor of Arts Degree.

Joe entered the workforce as a night shift janitor for General Motors Corporation in King of Prussia, PA. He worked his way up the corporate ladder and became a Parts Division Plant Manager at various locations throughout the country until his retirement.

In 1996 he realized his dream of moving to Florida and living on the golf course. He was a member of DeBary Golf & Country Club. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing with his favorite foursome…his son and grandsons.

Family was his passion and he lived by his motto, “Family First”. He is survived by his wife, Audrey, son Joseph Gerald, Jr., daughters Deneen Gail & Jenece Marie, and grandchildren Matthew Joseph, Michael Charles, and Nicole Renee.

A private family service and burial will take place on Monday, November 6th at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens in Orange City, FL.
