He was born on May 23, 1941 in Jamesburg, New Jersey, a son to the late, Charles and Louis Bongiovanni Craparotta.
After high school, Joey served in the United States Army. He spent most of his life in Florida. He retired as an appliance repair technician with Sears and Roebuck. After retirement, he pursued many other careers. Joey delivered medicine for Arcadia Clinical Pharmacy in Orange City, owned and cooked at The Dinner Basket in Debary and worked with his brother at Crappy’s Warehouse. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church in Debary. In his spare time, he fished, golfed, sang Karaoke, had a great Donald Duck impersonation, an infectious smile, and he never met a stranger. Many friends affectionately called him, “Mayor.”
