Katherine Jane Di Giacomo

She was born to Gordon Henry Michaud and Doris Kiernan in Soldier Pond, Maine on January 11, 1948. Katherine (or Kay, as her close friends and family members lovingly referred to her ) graduated from Jonathon Law High School in Milford, Connecticut. She would have celebrated her 50 year class reunion this year. Kay was married to Gerardo Di Giacomo on June 15, 1974.

Katherine was a woman of many strengths. In her early years, she worked at Sikorsky Aircraft and then decided to “retire” early from a full time profession in order to dedicate herself to raise her two daughters. She was very active in her daughter’s lives, leading Girl Scouts, Church Youth Groups and chaperoning on field trips. She did not miss one activity, outing or game that they played in.

In addition to her adoring husband, Katherine is survived by her oldest daughter, Lisa Marie, youngest, Gina McGrew, as well as grandsons, Shad McGrew, Travin McGrew, and Mason Merrick.

Visitation will be held at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City on Wednesday evening from 6 - 8:30 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 5th at All Saints Episcopal Church, 155 Clark Street, Deltona at 1:30 pm with The Reverend Robin Morical officiating. Burial will follow at 3:45 pm at Deltona Memorial Gardens in Orange City, Florida. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests donations be made to All Saints Episcopal Church 155 Clark St., Deltona FL. 32725
