Mr. Leopoldo "Papi" Rivera

Mr. Rivera was born on July 18, 1931 in Yauco, Puerto Rico, the son of Manuel Velez and Margarito Rivera. He was employed in the packaging department at a brewery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for many years prior to his retirement in 1994, when the family moved to Florida. Mr. Rivera enjoyed gardening and agriculture, listening to Jibarito music from Puerto Rico and spending quality time with his wife.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; two sons, Leo Angel Rivera and Elmin Rivera; four daughters, Georgina Rivera, Malu Burtin, Soraida M. Rivera and Rosa Irizarry; eleven grandchildren, Fernando O. Rivera, Leo Angel Rivera, Jr., Jorge L. Ramirez, Victoria I. Ramirez, Alexandra R. Burtin, Antonio R. Burtin, Kassandra K. Rodriguez, Natasha M. Rivera, Jaime L. Gaul, Abdiel J. Gaul and Beverly L. Gaul; and one great-granddaughter, Azriela E. Rodriguez; two brothers, Fransico and Manuel Velez; and three sisters, Georgina Velez, Virginia Velez and Florinda Velez-Brady; many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 from 3 - 9 pm at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Boulevard, Orange City, PH: 386-775-4260. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 10:00 am with Father Julian Villega officiating. Burial will follow at Deltona Memorial Gardens in Orange City.
