- constructed a playground,
- and helped establish a community health facility.
He was also well known for his healing ministry. Fr. Springer's work sought not only to heal and save the spirit of man, but the mind and body as well.
For his numerous achievements and tireless commitment to St. Edmund’s Church and the Bronx, Fr. Springer received numerous awards, Citations of Merit, and Proclamations from both New York City and New York State, of which he was made an Honorary Citizen. He was also recognized by the U.S. House of Representatives.
After 27 years of a remarkable career serving God and bringing Christ into the community, Fr. Springer retired and relocated to Deltona, Florida.
