Diáne was a native of New York, New York and was the only child of the late Louise C. Donaldson. They moved to Miami, Florida when Diáne was a young child. The family moved to Orlando where Diáne graduated from Orlando Senior High in 1944 and then took a job as a stewardess for National Airlines in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1947, Diáne was working at the Federal Reserve Bank and met Coates C. “Bud” Davis in 1949. They were married in 1950 and had one son, Timothy Hope. Then headed back to Florida and had two daughters, Pamela Diáne and Cathy Ann.
Diáne began a 25-year career with F.W. Dodge-McGraw Hill as a reporter for major construction news in Central Florida. Retiring to the North Georgia town of Ellijay in 1986 and after Bud passed away in 1994, Diáne returned to Florida where she enjoyed volunteering at the local library and playing cards with her close-knit group of “gal pals” every week.
Diáne is survived by her son, Timothy H. Davis of Angleton, Texas; Pamela David Beaulieu of Orange City, Florida; Cathy Ann David Lamborne of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one grandson, Christopher Lamborne.
