She was the second of thirteen siblings. Louise attended Carron Hall Technical Girls School where she learned how to sew and became “the renowned seamstress.” After migrating to the United States in 1958, Louise married Martell Johnson and became mother to his two daughters Sandra and Alethia. Martell and Louise resided in Baltimore until they both retired in 1979 and relocated to Deltona Florida. An active member of the United Methodist Church, Louise continued to be engaged in various ministries, especially ones which required her to utilize her creative skills. She was an accomplished seamstress, and master of crochet. Other interests included tending to beautiful plants, painting and arts and crafts. She appreciated music and would play hymns on her piano until late in life.
Louise had an incredible memory and could recite elaborate poems from her childhood. She enjoyed sharing stories of her youth when asked and could also engage in relevant conversations about current world issues. Louise was described as an attentive listener who would provide appropriate advice. Louise had a gift of being able to relate to all ages. She was as relevant to her great grands as she was to her contemporaries. Louise was always interested in learning new things such as video chatting on cell phones. She loved her family and demonstrated her love in many ways. Louise stated that she had been blessed with a good life and was grateful for this.
Louise was predeceased by her husband Martell Johnson, and many of her siblings including Richard, George, and Rupert. She leaves to mourn her, daughters Sandra Hussett and Alethia Johnson, grand-children Duane and Natasha and great -grands, brothers Roland, Horace and Headley, cousin Toni Shaw and a host of nieces and nephews, friends and special friend Sandra Edwards. Louise will surely be missed.
