Luis Ramon Diaz, 83, of Orange City passed away on November 15, 2017. Luis was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rice on July 19, 1934; the son of Francisco and Maria Diaz. He married Haydee Guzman Diaz in 1967, and they shared 50 years of marriage. Luis moved his family to Florida from New York in 1982. He worked as a boat rigger. Luis enjoyed construction, working with his hands, but most important to him were his grandchildren.
Luis is survived by his wife Haydee, four sons, Michael Alamo of Orange City, Luis R. Diaz Jr. of Orange City, Brian Diaz and his wife Candi of DeLand, Anthony Diaz and his wife Candice of Deltona; three grandchildren Michael Alamo Jr., Caiden Diaz, and Caleb Diaz. He also leaves behind his brother Mario Diaz and wife Grace of Deltona, and his sister Zoraida Ruiz and husband Angel of Orange City.
A life celebration will take place at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home in Orange City on Saturday, November 25, 2017, beginning with a gathering of friends and family at noon, followed by services at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Deltona Memorial Gardens.
