Luis Rodolfo Guerrero, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, at the age of 70, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Havana, Cuba, on March 3, 1956, Luis made the brave journey to the United States at the age of 14. Filled with gratitude for the opportunities his new home provided, he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force on August 18, 1975, at the age of 19. He honorably served his country for twelve years before continuing his commitment to public service as a federal employee for an additional 33 years. His military and federal careers shaped his life, instilling in him an unwavering sense of duty, discipline, integrity, and an extraordinary work ethic.

On July 12, 1975, Luis married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Alma Figueroa. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and unconditional support. Their marriage was a beautiful example of everlasting commitment, friendship, and enduring love.

Luis was known for his gentle heart, his unforgettable "dad jokes," and his remarkable ability to fix just about anything. Whether it was a broken car, a household repair, or a difficult problem, there seemed to be nothing beyond his ability to solve. His ingenuity, determination, and perseverance led to countless innovative solutions both at home and throughout his career.

Above all, Luis was a man of generosity and forgiveness. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand, whether it meant repairing a neighbor's vehicle, opening his home to someone in need, or rescuing yet another stray animal that found its way to him. He lived with compassion and humility, always placing the needs of others before his own.

Above all else, Luis loved his family. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a loving grandfather whose greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. His wisdom, encouragement, and steady presence were gifts that will remain with his family forever.

Luis is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Alma Guerrero; his daughter, Alma Eileen Hill (John); his son, Luis Guerrero; and his other son, Juan Guerrero (Cassandra). He also leaves behind his five cherished grandchildren—Luis, Gabriel, Olivia, Emerson, and Logan—who brought immeasurable joy to his life. He is also survived by his mother, Aida; his sisters and brother, his wife’s sisters and brothers who loved him dearly; nieces, nephews, extended family; dear friends, and his beloved pets Lucy and Casper, who will forever treasure his memory.

Luis is preceded in death by his father, Luis T. Guerrero.

Luis's legacy is one of service, generosity, compassion, and unconditional love. He leaves behind not only the things he built with his hands, but also the lives he touched with his heart. His example of selfless service, steadfast dedication, and quiet strength will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Forever in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763, US, on August 9th, 2026, at 2pm.
