Luz Esther Velez

Luz Esther Velez, 58, of Orange City, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Born in Isabela, Puerto Rico, on September 26, 1967, Luz lived a life filled with warmth, strength, and compassion that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

On June 27, 1987, she married the love of her life, Gerson Velez, beginning a beautiful journey together built on love, faith, and family. Luz dedicated many years of her professional life to AdventHealth, where she worked as an Analyst Manager. She was respected for her dedication, leadership, and caring spirit toward both coworkers and those she served.

Luz had a remarkable gift for bringing joy wherever she went. Her radiant personality and infectious smile truly “lit up every room she was in.” She loved the outdoors and found peace and happiness at the beach, where she enjoyed the beauty of the ocean, sunshine, and time spent creating cherished memories with family and friends. She treasured every moment with her loved ones and embraced life with kindness, laughter, and a caring heart.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Gerson Velez; her children, Christina Rosado, Gerson Velez, and Vanessa Velez; and her cherished grandchildren, Felix Raul Rosado and Amarys Luz Rosado. Luz is also survived by her siblings Lucy, Cana, Madeline, Taty, Elio, and Angel.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ines Arrocho, who passed away on June 29, 2010, and Angel Acevedo, who passed away on March 30, 2011, as well as her beloved sister, Millie Acevedo, who passed away on March 22, 2022.

Luz will be remembered for her loving heart, unwavering devotion to her family, and the light she brought into the lives of so many. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who loved her.

Visitation will be held at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763, US, on June 5, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
