

Deltona, FL, age 95, died peacefully at his home on March 17, 2015. Manuel was born December 16, 1919, the son of the Late Domingo and Octavia Martinez Valdes in Pinar del Rio, Cuba
Survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Celia Valdes; devoted children, Gladys Valdes, Vivian Phillpotts-Valdes (Linda Crockett), Grisel Saez-Valdes (Gexon), Marisol Valdes (Ana Tejeda), Madelin Valdes (Bernardo Serrano) & Virginia Chavez (Rey); grandchildren, Kenia Acevedo, Enrique Collet, Debony Phillpotts, Adel Moorman, Daelen Saez-Ross, Delany Saez-Myers, Dileiby Saez-Rivera, Decary Saez, Justin Valdes, Shareal Valdes, Princess Lopez, Genesis Font, Damion Serrano, Marshall Martinez, Mannix, Martinez and Israel Quintero; great-grandchildren, Onex Acevedo, Elijah Acevedo, Jordan Mollo, Angelica Acevedo, David Acevedo, Justin Enrique Collet, Julian Nwadike, Gabrielle Nwadike, Rahza Marie Myers, Cache Myers, Devivana Ross, Jeremy Ross and Ivan Quiles, Gisel Smith, Arogon Lopez, Isaiah Lopez, Leahness Font, Janessa Font and Angelica Font.
Don Manuel Valdes was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was also a devoted donor to various charities and to his community He was a theologian, a deacon, known as the grand maestro and the great teacher, He served his country with pride, honor and valor. He loved and served his community with a generous hand and an even bigger heart. The Don Manuel Valdes will never be forgotten. He will always be remembered as the man, the myth, the legend. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, March 21st from 5 - 8 pm with a service at 6 pm with Pastor Ricardo Rodriguez at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, FL, where funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 22nd at 2 pm with Pastor Ramon Torres. Entombment will follow services in Deltona Memorial Gardens in Orange City, Florida.
