On the morning of December 17, 2014, Margie passed away peacefully of natural causes. Margie was comforted by family members when she passed at Florida Fish Memorial at 8:31 A.M. Margie was 87 years old.
Margie was born in San Angelo, Texas on January 14, 1927. She was the third child of Neville Lacey and Mary Melinda. They were very poor growing up but never lacked for love. When she was 9 her father passed away from tuberculosis and her mother passed when she was 16 due to heart related issues. At 16 she was forced into adulthood. She moved to Washington State where her older sister was living and completed her H.S. diploma. She got married and had 2 children. She later adopted 2 more.
Margie had a great sense of humor and had a passion for dogs and children, especially for babies. She was a Christian and led her life by example. She was a real testament for God and how we should live our lives,. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years combining her two loves of God and children. She would have had the dogs worshiping too if she could have figured out how to do it!
She was loved by all who met her. She spent a lifetime as a nurse caring for the elderly so they could remain at home. She touched and changed the lives of many in her good works; she was always helping someone less fortunate than herself. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was an exceptional mother, wife, friend and nurse. I could not have asked for a better mother. There is a celebration in heaven; they are getting a remarkable woman who will continue to be loved by all she meets. She will now serve as an angel watching down and protecting us all. She loved the color blue and her favorite flower is the carnation. She was just approved for Honoree membership in the Rotary Club of Lake Mary but was unable to make it official at the time of her passing.
