

Born on November 25, 1927, in Newark, New Jersey, Marie was a woman whose life was defined by devotion to her family, a strong work ethic, and a generous heart. She graduated from high school and continued her education with some college coursework before beginning a career in accounting. She worked for C&S Homes in DeLand, where she was respected for her dedication and professionalism.
On August 14, 1949, Marie married the love of her life, Joseph Licari. Together they built a loving family and shared many wonderful years of marriage.
Marie found great joy in giving back to her community. She volunteered at Florida Hospital DeLand, where her kindness and willingness to help others touched many lives. In her spare time, she enjoyed visiting casinos, completing crossword puzzles, and, above all, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family was the center of her life, and she treasured every moment shared with them.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Joanne Longo (Peter); her daughter, Rose Peterson (Jeff); and the loving memory of her son, Ron Licari, who preceded her in death.
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Peter W. Longo, Jr. (Victoria), Kimberlie Hymes, Robert Andrews, Brittany Black, Joseph Licari, Stephanie Licari, Peter W. Longo III, Jon Hymes, Eli Hymes, and Emma Hymes.
Marie was further blessed with beloved great-grandchildren, including Amelia Andrews, Charlotte Andrews, and Lincoln Andrews, along with several other great-grandchildren who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.
Marie will be remembered for her quiet strength, compassionate spirit, unwavering love for her family, and the warmth she shared with everyone who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and devotion will live on through the many lives she touched.
A Funeral Service will be held at St Peter Catholic Church, 359 W New York Ave, DeLand, FL 32720, US, on August 4, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
