Mark Thomas Bridgman, 73, of DeBary, Florida, passed away on February 12, 2025, after a second battle with cancer. He was born on October 17, 1951, in Lackawanna, New York, to the late James Jay Bridgman and Glover Bridgman. Though born in New York, Mark considered Fort Lauderdale, Florida, his home, where his family relocated in the early 1950s and spent much of his youth on the baseball fields, nurturing a lifelong love of the sport.
In 1974, Mark married Cynthia “Cindy” Bird Bridgman and together they raised two sons, Scott Bridgman (married to Cristina) and Robert Bridgman (married to Kristen). He was a devoted father and later became a proud grandfather, affectionately called “Pop-Pop” by his grandchildren: Ethan (10), Adeline (9), Kennedy (8), Bentley (7), and Victoria (5).
Following in his father’s footsteps, Mark entered the car business and in the mid 1980s, moved to Central Florida to help open Bondesen Chevrolet in Deland, Florida with his close friend Fred Bondesen. Mark and Cindy ultimately settled in DeBary, Florida where they put down enduring roots. In the late 1980s, Mark was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, an experience that prompted him to start a thriving cancer support group—a testament to his caring nature and commitment to helping others.
Mark was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cindy, and his brothers, Jay and Jeff Bridgman. He is survived by his sons, Scott and Robert; five grandchildren; his daughter-in-laws, and his sister, Jill Frayne (married to Dan). Known for his willingness to connect with anyone, anywhere, Mark will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and endless gift of conversation.
