Mary D. Gordon On March 7, 2023, Mary Dew Gordon, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully. She was 98 years old. She was from Richland County, the daughter of the late Maude Louise Dennis Dew and James Arthur Dew. She retired from the Council on Aging of the Midlands as a case manager. She was a charter member of Holland Avenue Baptist Church in Cayce, SC, a member of the West Columbia Women’s Club, and a member of the State Federation Women’s Club. Mrs. Gordon was predeceased by her husband, the late Oliver Vernod (Buddy) Gordon and daughter, LaDan Frances Gordon. She is survived by: her daughter, Angelia Louise Gordon of Sanford, FL; her daughter Dunneah Ogletree and her husband Robert of the Woodlands, Texas; her son, James Vernod Gordon and his wife Cynthia of Lexington, SC; her granddaughters Olivia Barket Yeffet, LaDawn Stevenson, Christin Allphin, and Mary Lynn Ogletree; her grandsons Bright Stevenson, Travis Gordon, and Jason Gordon; and her nine great grandchildren; Gunnar Johnson, MacKenzie Allphin, Braelyn De La Torre, Ty De La Torre, Cody Gordon, Emilee Gordon, Nolan Gordon, Ryder Gordon, and Kirra Gordon. Mary was known to boast about all of her children, and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A funeral service is scheduled for 2 pm on March 25, 2023 at the Woodridge Memorial Park & Funeral Home located at 138 Corley Mill Road , Lexington ,South Carolina. It will be held at the Lakeside Gazebo in the cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held following the service at Grecian Gardens Restaurant in West Columbia, S. C.
