Maung “Jimmy” Soe Myint,74, of Orange City died March 10, 2015 in Florida Hospital Fish Memorial. He was born in Rangoon, Burma on March 31, 1940; the son of U Tun Aung and Mary Aung. Jimmy married Cynthia Whitehouse, and they shared 43 years of marriage. He worked as a senior technician for IBM until his retirement in 1993. His interests included bowling, shuffleboard, playing guitar, travel, feeding birds and ferrel cats, vegetable gardening, and the Orange City Senior center.
Survivors include his wife Cynthia Myint, step-daughter Lorna Saunders and her husband Bill, a brother Hla Win, and sisters Betty Pineo and Peggy Win. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen and inurnment will take place in Deltona Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers his family suggests donations in his honor be made to Orange City Animal Rescue.
Deltona Memorial Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
