

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Melvin Levendorf, MD, on September 23, 2024, at the age of 100. Born on June 28, 1924, in McKeesport, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, Melvin was the beloved son of Kate and Abraham Levendorf.
Melvin’s legacy is one of compassion and dedication, both in his professional and personal life. He was a respected medical doctor specializing in family practice, serving the community of Liberty Borough, Pennsylvania, with unwavering commitment. In addition to his practice, he shared his extensive knowledge as an adjunct professor of Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology, inspiring countless students throughout his teaching career.
Melvin was preceded in death by his spouses, Dolores Levendorf and Jean Levendorf, both of whom he cherished deeply. He is survived by his significant other, Doreen E. Roberts, who brought joy and companionship to his later years. Melvin was a proud father to his children, Keith Levendorf and Judith Butler, and a devoted grandfather to Erin and Mark Levendorf, as well as Jennifer Zilla. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Delaney Zilla, Robert, David, and George Levendorf.
A lifelong Methodist, Melvin’s faith was a cornerstone of his life. He found great peace and joy in nature, particularly through his passion for fishing, which he pursued almost daily at his home on Lake Lorraine in Deltona, Florida. An avid reader and puzzle enthusiast, he enjoyed completing Sudoku and crossword puzzles, often challenging himself and those around him.
Melvin’s warmth, humor, and kindness touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed by family, friends, and the countless patients he cared for throughout his distinguished career.
