Michael Antonio Rios, age 34, of Deltona, Florida, passed away on June 21, 2026, leaving a profound void in the hearts of everyone who loved him. Michael was a gentle soul, a creative thinker, and a loyal son, brother, uncle and friend who brought a quiet wit and vibrant imagination to our world.
Born on April 9th, 1992, in Deland, Michael was the cherished, only son of Jose Antonio Rios and Kawanis (Jay) Rios. Growing up with three sisters, Michael held a truly special place in the family as the kind-hearted brother in the middle, the third oldest child. He grew up locally, graduating from Trinity Christian Academy, where his personality made him a favorite among his peers. During his time there, he served as the dedicated student manager of the basketball team and famously delighted his classmates with his legendary rendition of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song. He also played the saxophone in the band. His classmates enthusiastically voted him Homecoming King during his senior year. Following high school, he attended Daytona State College, where he earned his Associate of Science in Computer Programming & Analysis. Michael spent his career using his technical skills to help others, working in computer support and as a sales representative, always bringing a helpful spirit to his daily work.
Michael had a creative streak and a desire to build an online community. To his friends and fellow gamers, he was known as mperor_m on Twitch and YouTube. He poured his heart into streaming, sharing his love for Nintendo games and the epic adventures of The Legend of Zelda. Michael viewed gaming not just as a hobby, but as a calling, once sharing, "Gaming has always been a huge part of my life and I'd like to make a worthwhile career out of doing so. I hope you will have as much fun watching as I will producing this content."
That creativity also came alive in person at local comic conventions. Michael loved the artistry of cosplay, bringing his favorite characters to life on the convention floors in Orlando. He was someone who fully embraced the things he loved, and that enthusiasm was contagious.
Michael leaves behind a large, deeply loving family. In addition to his devoted parents, Jose and Kawanis, he is survived by his older sisters, Lisa (Rios) Sampson (Antonio) of Ft. Mitchell, Alabama, Dr. Jenny (Rios) Ousley of Spring Hill, Tennessee, as well as his younger sister, Dr. Kimberly Rios of Washington, D.C. He was a proud and fun-loving uncle to his four nephews and two nieces, who will grow up hearing stories of their uncle's imagination, kindness, and big heart. He also leaves behind a close-knit circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Michael’s gentle presence, his quiet humor, and the genuine warmth he brought to every family gathering will be missed beyond measure.
