

Miguel was born in Iloilo, Philippines on October 28, 1944 to Josefina and Miguel Anayas Sr.
Miguel was a dignified Chief of Police when he was in the Philippines. He also served as a Chief Investigator and Public Health Worker for many years. He would describe his life in the Philippines as a colorful adventure. Miguel and his wife Elenea along with their children moved to the United States, in 1994. He quickly became a refined handyman, and proudly owned his very own landscaping business. His passion was for the outdoors and his family. He loved trees, flowers, bamboo, birds, and just about every form of nature. He was incredibly loved and adored by his relatives, town mates, friends, and colleagues. They would describe him as funny, creative, silly, and adventurous. He was known to be incredibly generous and very compassionate. He enjoyed sky diving, scuba diving, participating in competition shooting, and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. He deeply enjoyed being with his family. He spent most afternoons with his grandchildren eating endless bowls of ice cream~ his favorite. He was a collector of many treasures. Miguel was a hopeless romantic and fell hopelessly in love with his wife of 53 years. He is survived by his loving wife Elenea Botea Anayas. Six children and their spouses- Mary Ann and Mark Grimme, Lawrence and Teresa Anayas, Joseph and Lelanie Anayas, Michele and Richard Purnell, Michael John and Hilary Anayas, Mylene and Steven Aviles, Eight grandchildren Michael, Cara, Terrence, Fiona, Sophia, Ellie, Laelah, and Elijah. Four siblings Zeny Anayas, Mae Anayas, Jesus Anayas, and Marcelo Anayas. Miguel is predeceased by his father Miguel Anayas Sr and Mother Josefina Anayas.
Memorial services and mass will be held at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 4pm-8pm with mass being held at 5pm. All are welcome to celebrate a life well lived and well loved.
