Nancy was born on May 29, 1944, in Waverly, Iowa, to Donald and Betty Briggs. As a young girl, she moved with her family to California. She and her brother, Stephen Delos, spent their childhood traveling back and forth between Iowa and California, often living with their beloved grandparents, “Momo” and “Papa,” on their Iowa farm for part of the year before returning to California to be with their parents.
Nancy had a special love for animals, especially her favorite cat, Mike. She would dress him up and even taught him to hold a baby bottle and drink milk from it — a story that brought smiles to many over the years.
On June 23, 1962, Nancy married the love of her life, Robert James Walker I. They shared many wonderful years together building a home and raising their family. Robert preceded her in death on March 8, 2024. Their love and commitment spanned over six decades.
Nancy and Robert lived in Inglewood, California, before purchasing their first and only home in La Mirada in 1973, where they raised their three children. They remained there for over 50 years before Nancy moved to Deltona, Florida in December 2023, where she resided until her passing.
Nancy was a proud Cast Member at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, working as a Gate Attendant and Ticket Validator. She truly enjoyed welcoming guests and being part of the magic.
Her passions included photography, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and taking them to their ice skating lessons. She loved birds, horses, and the simple joys of everyday life.
Nancy is survived by her children, Robert James Walker II, Sheryl Louise Walker, and Brian Donald Walker; her grandchildren, Amy Nichole, Ronald Wayne, Joshua Nathaniel, Kaylynn Shayne, Diane Jiali, Myles Bennett, and Charlotte Grace; and her great-grandchildren, Rosie Rai, Nolan, Emma, and her beloved great-grand “fur babies.”
Nancy will be remembered for her warmth, devotion to family, playful spirit, and the love she shared so freely. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
