

Although his name was Oliver, everyone lovingly called him “Jr.” Oliver Mack Caldwell, Jr., age 80, of Deltona, Florida, passed away on June 7, 2026.
Born on January 8, 1946, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Jr. lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a gift for making others smile. On April 22, 1967, he married the love of his life, Mildred Caldwell, beginning a marriage that spanned nearly six decades and was filled with love, laughter, and unwavering commitment.
Jr. dedicated his career to serving others as a mechanic with the United States Postal Service. Through his skill, dedication, and strong work ethic, he earned the respect of his coworkers and took great pride in his work until his retirement in 2007.
Those who knew Jr. will remember his curious mind, his ability to fix just about anything, and his love of sharing stories. He enjoyed tinkering, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Whether gathered around a table, sitting on a porch, or enjoying a day outdoors, Jr. had a special way of turning ordinary moments into cherished memories with his humor, wisdom, and storytelling.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mildred Caldwell; his children, Lonnie Mack Caldwell and Timothy Wade Caldwell; and his cherished grandchildren, Tyson Langlitz, Leanna Caldwell, Justin Langlitz, Sarina Caldwell, Tayla Caldwell, Garrett Caldwell, Brayden Caldwell, Cherish Newton, Amanda Meredith, and Tasha Meredith. He is also survived by his brother, Bill Yates of Fallon, Missouri, along with many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.
Jr.’s legacy lives on through the values he instilled, the stories he shared, and the love he gave so freely. He leaves behind a family strengthened by his example and countless memories that will be treasured for generations.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Open Bible Baptist Church, 2801 Grayson St, Orange City, FL 32763, US, on June 27, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763, US, on June 27, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.
