Ora Mae Martin, née Joines, 95, of DeBary, Florida, peacefully passed away on July 19, 2026, in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
Ora was born on March 15, 1931, in Elkhorn, West Virginia, to the late Ervin Joines and Susan "Susie" (Cullop) Joines. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melvin Thomas "Tom" Martin; her parents; and her sister, Bessie Carabia.
Ora devoted her life to caring for others through her work as a nurse, a profession that reflected her compassionate and selfless nature. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of DeBary and found great joy in sewing, tending to her garden, and creating countless handmade treasures for family and friends.
Above all else, Ora loved her family. She had a heart for helping others and was always willing to lend a hand whenever someone was in need. Her home was a place where her grandchildren always knew they would find a piece of candy waiting for them—a simple tradition that became one of the many cherished memories they will carry with them forever.
She is survived by her children, Scott Martin, David Martin, and Carolyn Winne; her grandchildren, Paul, Shawn, Mickel, Kellie, Dianna, Ryan, and Jeffrey; and her 17 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immeasurable joy.
Ora will be remembered for her unwavering faith, gentle spirit, kindness, and generous heart. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, service, and unconditional love that will continue to live on in the lives of her family and everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A funeral service celebrating Ora's life will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home & Gardens, 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, Florida 32763. Interment will immediately follow the service at Deltona Memorial Gardens.
Though our hearts are saddened by her passing, we find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband, Tom, and those who went before her and is at peace in the presence of her Lord. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
