

He was married to Emily "Muffy" McCoy on November 22, 1995.
Skip owned gas stations/Auto Repair shops in the 1970’s, and when they all turned to Convenience Stores, he switched to Auto Repair Shops. He was an entrepreneur, and mostly owned his own Auto Repair Shops, except for a stint as Service Manager at AutoNation. He sold his Auto Repair Shop in Tavares in 2005 and retired.
He was a member of Civic Organizations, such as Sertoma Club and Rotary Clubs, and served as President of Sertoma Club. While living in Paisley, he served as President of the Paisley Association, a Social Club that did a lot of Community Service in the area, such as serving free dinners at the Clubhouse on Thanksgiving and Christmas. He was also a member of the VFW, Moose Lodge, and a of the American Legion. He had a passion for NASCAR, recreational boating, and small airplanes. He was also a huge lover of dogs.
He served as Flagman at Orlando Speedworld. He was part of the group that many years ago set up the drag racing for young people at Orlando Speedworld to keep them from drag racing in the streets.
He loved automobiles and speed when a teenager, and he commented that the cop would be waiting for him in his mother’s driveway when he got home.
He was a founder of the Quarter Midgets Racing in Clarcona, FL for youngsters interested in racing. He would announce the results the following morning on the radio.
He had a knack in the kitchen, making the best grilled chicken and peanut butter pie, among other specialties.
He served in the Navy from 1956 – 1967, and was aboard the USS Oriskany when a fire broke out that ended up taking the lives of many of the Navy Pilots and other personnel. The Aircraft Carrier was in the waters off Vietnam at the time, during the war.
During his stint aboard the Aircraft Carriers, both the Essex and the Oriskany, he occasionally participated in the flight crew. He had to learn how to fly in case something happened to the pilot. After his stint in the military, he would occasionally fly with Stan Bumby (of Bumby Hardware) in Orlando.
Skip is survived by his wife, Muffy; three sons, Donald, Tommy, and TomTom; three daughters, Donna Jean, Kathy, and Debby; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Elene Treisch; and brother, Harry Wilson.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Skip's name to Halifax Hospice Care Center (1625 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, Orange City, FL 32763).
A visitation for Paul will be held Sunday, June 18, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763.
A funeral service will occur Sunday, June 18, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763.
A graveside service will occur Monday, June 19, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at 9823 - Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Dr, Winter Park, FL 32789.
