

Phil was the third of five sons born to Frank & Ursula Galic of Newport, PA. He was born on November 29, 1942 in Harrisburg, PA and spent his entire childhood in Newport. He was a 1960 graduate of Newport High School and he studied engineering at Drexel University in Philadelphia. He moved from the Philadelphia area to Orlando in 1972 to begin a long year career with Lockheed Martin, retiring in 2000. Phil and his wife, Sylvia, were united in marriage in Orlando on October 14, 1984 and spent many happy years with each other. They lived in central Florida before retiring in Tennessee in 2003. They have since returned to Florida and have been living in DeBary. Phil was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Greeneville, TN and a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in DeBary.
He always enjoyed meeting people and making new friends; whom he considered to be one of the most important riches of his life, second only to his wife and children. One of his greatest pleasures in life was spending time with his family members.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia (Proffitt) Galic; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory (Becky) Galic of Deltona, FL; Jeffrey (Dawn) Galic of Woodbridge, VA, and daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie (Matt) Barngrover of Longwood, FL, along with two step-children, Randi (Troy) Mollohan of Lutz, FL, Vic (Natalie) Randolph of N. Miami Beach, FL and Todd Randolph of Orlando, FL; a grandson, Bryan Michael Galic of Haltom City, TX and step-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jacob & Bailey Mollohan, Kaitlyn and Wesley Randolph, Ashlee Smyth and Joseph Spurr. He is also survived by four brothers and two sisters-in-law; Emory (Joyce) Galic of Newport, PA, Monsignor Bernard Galic of Yoder, IN, Mick (Bev) Galic of Mesquite, NV and Bill Galic of Soldotna, AK; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 27th from 9 - 10 am at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 26 Dogwood Trail, DeBary. A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Phil's life will be celebrated at St. Ann's Catholic Church in DeBary on Thursday, February 27th at 10 am with Monsignor Bernard John Galic officiating. Inurnment will follow in Deltona Memorial Gardens in Orange City, Florida.
