I never thought that I would be typing my final good-bye to you. This is one of the hardest things I could have ever imagined I would do.

I keep crying, wailing really... and I hear your voice in my head. It's telling me to "stop crying" and it comforts me. To know that I will never hear your voice again pains me like no pain I have ever had.

Papa, to have known you was to love you. You were a man with many friends and family that adored you. One could only hope to be as lucky in life and love as you were.

I will miss you, my Papa. I will miss the way you used to make your neck meatballs talk to me... you did anything to make me laugh. I will miss the comfort of your arms that kept me safe so, so, so, so many times. Mostly, I will just miss the way you loved me-unconditionally. You will always be my Papa and the bond we had was unspoken but tremendous.

I wish we had more time. Te amo, Papa.

They say that a man's legacy is a testimony to the kind of man he was...I can say that, although I never met Mr. Ortiz, I know he was someone special, not only from the beautiful memories many have expressed, but because he was a major influence on the man in my life.  Because of Mr. Ortiz' influence, Chino is a better man. I thank Mr. Ortiz for touching my life as well.

i am so sorry to the family of ralph ortiz.  he was a great man with a powerful personality.  i am glad i had a chance to have known him and in a way consider him family.  i will remember him fondly.  Blessings to you all and ralph...enjoy the after life - we will meet again.
