It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raymond Arjona on April 29, 2025, at the age of 88. Ray was born on April 2, 1937, in New York City to Frank Arjona and Eustaquia Riviera. He was preceded in death by his three siblings: Frank Arjona, Gloria Martinez, and Isidro Arjona.
Ray met the love of his life and beloved surviving wife of 63 years, Nancy L. Jackson, in New York City. Together, they had two children, Raymond Arjona and Katherine Gonzalez, and raised two additional daughters, Leonor Rodriguez and Ileana Torres. He was a devoted family man who loved his 7 grandchildren—Santino Arjona, Nina Arjona, Lawrence Gonzalez, Corinne Hercules, Paul Veiga, Michael, and Jessica Torres—and was blessed with 7 great-grandchildren: Emilea and Ella Arjona, Lawrence and Christian Gonzalez, Leyla Hercules, and Alexa and Derek Torres.
A proud veteran, Ray served in the Air Force, receiving an honorable discharge after 7 years of active and reserve service. He worked in the garment industry as a pattern cutter for a boutique designer before discovering his true passion for cooking and baking. Over the years, he worked in various restaurants, including Sunny Acres in Plattekill, NY, and spent more than 20 years at West Point, preparing meals for hundreds of cadets. His dedication earned him several awards and recognitions. After retirement, Ray moved to Florida, where he resided until his passing.
Ray enjoyed listening to Latin music and was known for opening his home for many joyful gatherings—cherished memories of family, friends, and celebration. His warmth, generosity, and love for life will be deeply missed.
