

Ray was born on October 5, 1929 in Roselle, NJ to the late Elizabeth and Christian Bruder.
Ray was a proud member of the United States Air Force as a staff Sergeant, Aircraft Prop Mechanic during the Korean War. He served his community of Volusia County as part of the Sheriff’s Citizen Observer Program for 26 years.
He worked for 38 years as a pro-maintenance welder and fabricator with Carpenter Technology in Union, NJ. After retiring from Carpenter Technology, Ray went to work for Runnells Specialized Hospital of Union County located in Berkeley Heights, NJ, for 10 years.
Ray was a dedicated 70-year, Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed his time as an assistant Scout Master of Boy Scouts Troop 36 of Linden, NJ.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth and Christian Bruder; his siblings Robert Bruder, Edward Bruder, and Florence (Bruder) Cavalier.
Ray is survived by his wife of 35 years, Christina L. Bruder. His sons John R. Bruder (Bobbie) and Kenneth M. Bruder (Kathleen). His stepdaughters Ida Zazzali (Edward) and Marcia Hester. His sister Agnes Matlaga of Freehold, NJ. His loving grandchildren Joshua Bruder, Kristina Sullivan, Joseph Bruder, Kimberly Bruder and Edward Zazzali, Allison Zazzali and Christian Zazzali. His great grandchildren: Ezekiel, Xander, Erzi Megan, Riley Marie Nicholas and Devin.
