Raymond, age 94, died at West Palm Beach Hospital on March 4, 2015. Pete was born October 11, 1920 in Chester, Pa. He lived his life in Parkside until retiring from Sun Oil Co. in 1980. Along with his wife, they moved to DeBary. FL for another 30 yrs. then relocated to West Palm Beach to be near their granddaughter.
Raymond was a PROUD Marine. He served during WWII aboard the USS Philadelphia as an Anti-Aircraft Gunner. He was a volunteer fireman serving as both assistant and Chief of the Parkside Fire Co. He was a member of Boro Council serving as President and Mayor of Parkside, Pa
Working in his yard at all his homes was his pastime. He loved spending time with his family. His story telling sharp tongue and sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew him. Their door was always open to anyone visiting the area.
Survivors include his children, Raymond III (Gwen) of Midland, MI, Charles W. of Chester, PA and Ruthanne (James Crawford) of Rutledge, PA; Grandchildren and families, Christopher Marchiani (Lisa...Miranda & Megan), AnnaMarie Kates-Paulus (Deano....Kyler & Katerie); sister, Norma DiVito of Glen Mills. PA; many beloved nieces and nephews. Pete was predeceased by his wife of 71yrs. Ruth Wilkie Phillips, grandson Michael Marchiani, sister, Doris Hodgson Morris and parents Raymond and Margaret Forrest Phillips.
A memorial service will be held Saturday March 14, 2015 10:30 AM at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow in Deltona Memorial Gardens
