

Born on December 1, 1959, in Huntington, Long Island, New York, Richard lived a life marked by dedication, integrity, and a deep love for his family. He graduated from Palm Coast High School and later earned a Draftsman Degree from Daytona Beach Community College (DBCC).
On January 7, 1989, Richard married the love of his life, Kay Goodwin. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories.
Richard enjoyed a distinguished career in the insurance industry spanning 48 years. He was the proud owner of Goodwin Insurance & Associates for 25 years, where he earned the trust and respect of his clients, colleagues, and community through his commitment to helping others.
Outside of his professional life, Richard found great joy in boating and riding his motorcycle. Whether on the water or on the open road, he embraced every opportunity to enjoy life and spend time with those he loved.
Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Kay Goodwin; his daughters, Mitzi Barber (Sean) and Diana Caliendo (Chris); his cherished grandchildren, Kaylee, Peyton (Jacob), Piersen, Saxon, and Avonlea Barber, and Bella and Willow Caliendo. He is also survived by his brothers, Allan Goodwin and David Goodwin, as well as many extended family members, dear friends, and loved ones who will forever treasure his memory.
Richard will be remembered for his hard working spirit, unwavering devotion to his family, generous heart, and the countless lives he touched throughout his lifetime. His legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Richard's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Christ the King Church, 6015 Spruce Creek Road, Port Orange, Florida 32127.
