He was the devoted husband of 57 years to Shirley Hollinger and a proud father to his two sons, Rob and Paul Hollinger.
He took great pride in watching his boys grow and build their own lives.
In 1974, the very day Paul Hollinger was born, Robert Hollinger began his own plumbing company. He was a very hard worker, outstanding Plumber, and a great example to his sons in every way. His plumbing legacy lives on to this very day. Paul Hollinger worked with his dad in the plumbing industry for many years before pursuing a degree and a very successful career in Engineering. In 2015 Rob Hollinger began RH Plumbing, “Robert” - “Hurley” Plumbing. In honor of his dad, Robert Hollinger and his grandfather, Hurley Chappell, who was also a plumber and gave Robert his start in the plumbing industry.
One of nine siblings, he shared a lifelong bond with his brothers and sisters, and growing up in such a big family gave him a quick wit, a sharp tongue, and an endless supply of stories and jokes.
He loved Motorcycles, Corvettes, and the thrill of the open road. NASCAR races were rarely missed, and he had a way of making every ride or race day feel like an adventure.
He was larger than life in every way—funny, sarcastic, sometimes a little bit of an asshole, but always with a laugh that made it impossible not to Love him. He had a remark for every conversation, a story for every occasion, and a belief that life was meant to be celebrated—preferably with an open drink in hand or a shared shot among friends and family. Those who knew him will remember his wit, his friendship, and his ability to make everyone feel like part of the family.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Shirley Hollinger; his sons, Rob with Wife Tina Hollinger and Paul with Wife Jeanne Hollinger; his Grandson Andrew with Wife Jessica Hollinger; His Granddaughter Megan Hollinger and 3 Great Grandchildren, McKenna, Remington, and Rieslynn; his 8 Brothers and Sisters; Cathy with Husband Pete Engilis, Marilyn with Husband John Park, Gary with Wife Pat Hollinger, Sue with husband John Sampson, Terry with Husband Bob Igneri, Tim Hollinger, Kevin with Wife Karen Hollinger, and Alan with Wife Maureen Hollinger. While his journey on this earth has ended, his Love, and his sarcasm, and his Legacy will Live on Forever in our Hearts.
